In the town of Tick-Tack, near the hill of Kazoo, Stood a school painted purple and yellow and blue. It was tall, it was twisty, it leaned to the right, And its windows all glowed with a bright coding light. A sign at the gate said, in letters so true:

“Come learn all the things that your brain wants to do!”

They taught C and C++, Java and more, Python and websites on floor twenty-four. There were classes on buttons, on loops, and on “if,” And how to fix bugs that go sniffity-sniff. Professor McBracket, with hair like a broom, Taught C++ daily in the big coding room.

“Now listen!” he cried, with a click and a clack,
“A program is built like a train on a track!”

“You start with your main, then you type what you need,
Then compile it fast with tremendous great speed!”

The students all typed with a tap and a grin,
But one little student named Zibble broke in.

“My code is all wobbly! My brackets won’t stay!
My semicolons keep running away!”

The professor smiled kindly. “That happens, you see.

A coder must try, then try two, then try three.”

So Zibble kept working through error and fright,
Till the program finally printed:

“Hello, World! Good night!”

The whole class went cheering, “Hooray and yahoo!
Now Zibble can code in C plus plus too!”

At the Institute of Bloopity-Bits, they all knew,
Learning is fun when the teacher helps you.

So come with your laptop, your notebook, your pen,
Make mistakes, fix them up, and then try again.

For in coding, dear friend, there is one golden rule:
A curious brain is the best kind of tool.
